Additional Information

The annual Christmas Tea at the historic Katy Depot, 600 E. Third St., will be held Saturday, Dec. 7. Seating begins at 11:30. The program will include a presentation on Civil War fashions and 1860’s appropriate foods. This is a great way for mothers and daughters or a group of girlfriends to kick off the holiday season. The Depot Store, which features food items from across Missouri and locally-made crafts, as well as books by local authors, will by open during the tea party to allow for Christmas shopping. Dec. 7 will also be the last day to see the year-long museum exhibit on Sedalia and the Civil War, so plan to see it before or after the party.
Tickets are only $15, and advance purchase is required. The Depot Store is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and can be reached by calling 660-826-2932.
The event is sponsored by Friends of the Katy Depot, including Bryant Motors, PPS Group, State Fair Community College, Bothwell Regional Health Center, Dugan Paints, Art & Graphics, Champion Bicycles, Starline, and Forest Park Landscaping. The Katy Depot is a 501c3 tax deductible charity and uses the funds raised from the tea party to support its exhibits and community activities.
