The Marshall Philharmonic will close its 51st Season on Sunday, April 6
featuring some of Marshall's most promising young talent. Soloist for
the day will be Marshall High School graduate Brandon Pace, on clarinet,
and the Marshall High School Orchestra will perform as special guests.

Pace, a Marshall native, is currently a junior at the University of
Central Missouri in Warrensburg, majoring in clarinet performance. He is
the principal clarinetist of the UCM Wind Ensemble as well as the UCM
Symphony Orchestra, and serves as drum major with the UCM Marching
Mules.  He has accumulated many district, state and national honors and
recently studied abroad in Florence, Italy.

The Marshall High School Orchestra also has accumulated recent state
honors.  On Monday, March 31st, the orchestra received a I rating at
state music festival in Boonville.  Students were evaluated by a panel
of 3 judges for their prepared works, and by a 4th judge for their
sight reading.  All 4 judges awarded the MHS Orchestra a I rating. This
marks the 13th consecutive year for the Marshall Orchestra to earn a I
rating at the state event under the leadership of conductor Kevin Lines.

Sunday's concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Harold L. Lickey
Auditorium of Bueker Middle School.  As always, MPO concerts are free to
the public with a reception immediately following.
