Help This Missouri Theme Park Win The Gold Again!
I love carnivals and amusement parks. They're fascinating, and I've always thought it would be a fun job if this radio thing didn't work out. Today, one of my favorite theme parks is Silver Dollar City in the Ozarks, and they need our help to take home the gold again.
Silver Dollar City reminds me of a classic theme park experience—the one you may have experienced at Worlds Of Fun back in the 1970s when it was owned by the Hunt family or the one I had at Great America in Chicago when Marriott owned it.
Back then, those theme parks were more about taking you somewhere else, maybe another time or another place. My impression when you go to a Six Flags park today, of which both Worlds of Fun and Great America are, it's all about thrills, superheroes, and rides that scare your pants off without giving a lot of thought to theming, shows, events, that sort of thing.
That's why I always root for Silver Dollar City. Don't get me wrong; there are many thrills, chills, spills, and wild rides. Yet, there's so much more, including attention to themes, shows, and hospitality. As one of our promotional partners, I don't think I'm speaking out of turn, saying that they demonstrate that to us every time we work together. I'll go one step further; I bet they demonstrate that to you when you buy your ticket to adventure.
One of its signature events is the Christmas festival they put on, An Old Time Christmas, which runs through January 4, 2024.
From Rudolph's Holly Jolly Christmas Light Parade to the state-of-the-art 8-story Christmas tree playing yule tunes synchronized with the other Christmas trees, festoons, and buildings around the Town Square, it's a magical experience that includes family entertainment, interactive experiences, shopping, visiting St. Nick, leaving the world behind, and exploring the magic and wonder of Christmas—-however old you are.
Please don't take my word for it, though. Silver Dollar City is a six-time champion for USA Today's Reader's Choice Awards when it comes to being voted the number one Theme Park Holiday Event. This year, they've been nominated for the 7th time and want to win again.
Speaking about Silver Dollar City's Old Time Christmas and the park's seventh nomination in the contest, Silver Dollar City Company president Bad Thomas says, "While we know how special this event has become for generations of our guests, we hope you’ll help us win this prestigious title a seventh time. Please vote every day through the rest of this month!”
You can do that here, today, and every day until the contest ends.
I'd also like to invite you to listen to Mix 92.3, The Christmas Station, starting on Monday, November 18, for an opportunity to win a four-pack of tickets to experience An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City. We'll even throw in a $50 gas card to help you get there!
So go out and vote and help Silver Dollar City win the gold again. It's genuinely one of Missouri's Ozark treasures.
