Henson Named Central Bank’s Unsung Hero for March 2025

We're back from a little hiatus with our latest Unsung Hero!

Unsung Hero is all about regular people who make a difference where they can. Sure, you might not have enough money to end world hunger, but you pay it forward at the drive thru. Or you might not have all the time you'd like, but you make sure to ring the bell every chance you get. Or even someone just passing around the hat for donations at work to help that person that had to take unpaid time off.

However they do it, that's what we want to celebrate. Doing what you can just because it's the right thing to do. Our Unsunger this time is Andrea Henson!  She was nominated by  her pastor, Jeremiah Greever. Let's see what he had to say!

Andrea works hard as a Nurse Practitioner with AFC Urgent Care. She always is willing to help anyone answer any medical questions and is generous with her time to look at health concerns on and off the clock. She also teaches 1-3rd grade Sunday School class every Sunday, and frequently volunteers to watch children at special events. She's selfless, giving, and servant-hearted!

Andrea has been working with AFC for about three years, and she actually didn't even start out on the nursing path. She started as an emergency room clerk and worked her way up!  She does family medicine, urgent care, and primary care.  She sees people of all ages and illnesses, and prescribes medicines to help people.  Aka, a lot!

When it comes to her off duty time, she says teaching in the Sunday School is a lot of fun for her. She's a busy mom with one kid at home and several grown ones out there, keeping busy. But Andrea does enjoy helping out with child care in her church and however she can! She says she's "Happy to help them, if it's something I'm able to help them with."  And she loves it when her patients from AFC come up to her with hugs when she's out and about!
