Okay, maybe 'famous' is a little bit of an exaggeration.  But not that much!

NJ and I decided to take part in the Patchwork of Places tour to benefit the Heard House Memorial Club House last week.  And well, it took this long to get all the photos together, partially because it was so neat!  But keep in mind, NJ and I didn't even get to see all the stops on the tour.  We made it to three of the six.

About half the stops were tied into historical Sedalia, while the other three were innovative new buildings that brought the modern look.   We got on the road late (NJ was doing some woodworking in the garage), and made it to the The Quonset Hut,  The Senator's Loft, and The Timber Frame Barn.

We really kind of regretted not leaving sooner after the tour was over.  We didn't make it to the Whistle House, The Tiny House, or the Flat Creek Building.   But it definitely was very interesting!

It was all a very low key, casual kind tour.  You could look around on your own, or you could wait for a guide (which were usually the home owner's friends, lol, which was nice. Made it feel less like you were snooping!).  It definitely inspired NJ with a few ideas for our future DIY renovations.

Honestly, if something like this comes up again, we'll go again.  It was so cool and I learned a lot, especially because I don't spend a lot of time outside of the city limits.  If you want to find out more about the Heard House, feel free to click here!

What do you think? What homes would you like added to a tour next time?

Historically yours,
