Swing with Pride: Celebrating Local Veterans, One Name at a Time
Gentle Reader, we've just passed a major holiday for a lot of our families, friends, co-workers, neighbors, everybody. Memorial Day is a day to remember, honor, and reminisce about people who've served, and it was great to see everyone celebrating in their own way.
But... why does it have to stop there? It doesn't, right? We have Memorial Day, but we want to make sure to keep honoring our veterans. They deserve more than just one day, after all.
Sure, So What Can We Do?
There's something small you can do that will make a huge difference, and really get everyone in the spirit. Down Range Indoor Golf is looking to give people the chance to keep the memories of their loved ones alive all year.
If you have a loved one who served in the military, we invite you to share their photo. These heroes will be proudly featured on our Honor Wall and highlighted on our Facebook page throughout the year.
Yes, they're offering their wall up to you and your photos, your memories, your stories. It'll be right there in their office, and like they said, it'll be up on social media throughout the year.
I reached out to the contact person on this project, Andy Williams, who told me that they want to fill the ENTIRE wall, and that they'll even accept photos in person at the range if you're not a "computer person". I know there are some of you out there.
Just imagine. Every time someone walks into Down Range Indoor Golf, they'll take a second and look at all those photos. They'll read the names. They'll talk amongst themselves about the sacrifice and hard work of all these veterans. It's such a simple thing to do, but those ripples will travel far. Every face, every smile, every story will reach out to someone's heart and help them remember all that's come before them. And actually, seeing these heroes will probably inspire others to get out there and do some good to make a difference - in the military or not.

You can ask some questions by checking our their social media, or by checking out their website. Or you can call (660) 281-1380, email at info@downrangegolfsim.com. And, like Andy said, you can just drop off your photos at the range if you really want (4185 South Park Ave - think behind the Temp Stop, all the way back past the Shrine Club - you'd take Elm Hills down to Park, and then turn onto Treece, you're there).
Plus, it's not like you won't be out there having a blast. And you can do it rain or shine, since you're indoors. BRILLIANT.
Golfingly yours,
Behka
