The Therapeutic Power Of Building Lego Scenes

I'll admit it, Gentle Reader. I'm a nerd. I like popcorn, cats, videos of people cooking, K-Pop, and that's about it.

Well. There's more to it than that, but you know what I'm saying.  It's not too difficult to please me, in my opinion. So of course, me being a nerd, I attracted a fellow nerd. NJ is also a big time nerd and it's adorable. I'm sure a lot of you are very similar.  He's very professional and straight laced when it comes to his job and everything, but at home he's a big ol' dork and it's the best.

One of his hobbies that he uses to relax and kind of unwind is constructing Lego scenes.

There's something very relaxing about it for someone like him.  He spends all of his time at work solving serious problems with his own intellect, and it's appealing to just...follow some instructions and build a simple thing. It lets him shut off his brain, in a way, because he doesn't have to come up with the solution, like you would a puzzle. It's just a + b = c, simple and straightforward. I hear it's a common thing architects do sometimes. I mean, a lot of us grew up with Legos. And they make a good product. Why not keep doing it?

Yes, the little tea light candle is me. And of course, since we're a Lego household, when I saw this video, I was DELIGHTED, I tell ya. DELIGHTED.

I can just see kids making these and then... making the most noise possible. Which could be on the one hand, awesome.  And on the other hand.... well, maybe not.  But you parents out there, just remember this. If your kids are playing with Legos and they want to keep going, let them. After all, you don't want them to end up like these dudes, who have a hobby but can't share it.
