High Speed Motorcycle Chase Ends in Arrest
On Saturday night, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of US 50 and South Emmet Avenue in Pettis County.
The stop was on a motorcycle that had a registration violation. The motorcycle fled eastbound on US 50 from the traffic stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit reached speeds of 60-97 MPH.
The pursuit was terminated by Deputies for unsafe conditions. Deputies followed at a safe distance, obeying traffic laws.
When Deputies approached the intersection of US 50 and Highway 135, they noticed the motorcycle and the suspect on the shoulder of the road, leaning over a guardrail.
Ryan Lee Hefley, 45, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of "Aggravated Resisting Arrest by Fleeing** and Driving While Revoked.
