In the early hours of Saturday morning, Johnson County deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 1300 block of NW 50 Road, in Holden.

Upon arrival, the suspect fled on foot. The suspect, Gary W. Powers, 53, from Raymore, was located shortly thereafter.

"We appreciate the assistance of the Holden Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol in locating Mr. Powers," commented JoCo Sheriff Mike Munsterman.

Mr. Powers has been transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold, facing charges of burglary in the 2nd degree.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, it was noted.
