The Largest BBQ Competition In the World Is Just Over The Border
The largest barbecue competition in the world is coming to the Kansas Speedway this weekend, and it promises BBQ lovers an unparalleled experience.
The competition, American Royal's biggest fundraiser, goes straight to its mission to be "the nation's leader for food and agriculture education, events, and engagement."
A weekend pass to the event costs $45 if purchased by October 31, 2024, or $50 if purchased on November 1, 2024. Weekend passes cover gate entry all weekend and allow for re-entry. Single-day tickets are $22 if purchased by October 31, 2024, or $25 if purchased on November 1, 2024. These tickets do not allow reentry.
In addition to being the biggest barbecue competition in the world, there's fun for everyone. Throughout the event, there's a battle of the bands, with the ultimate grand champion band winning $3,000! On the pit road of the Kansas Speedway, there's a Pit Party that includes live music, games, food, drinks, and fun. And on the infield, KC's Backyard Barbecue has food, games, drinks, fun, and family activities.
Some events include KC Stampede Meat Races, Bobbing in Baked Beans, a Rib Eating Contest, BBQ Sauce Wrestling, and more.
The doors for the event will open at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 1, and 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2. Tickets do not include $20 for parking or food and drinks, which will be for sale at the event.
