Memories of Parent-Teacher Conferences Are Scarier Than Halloween

Do just the words "parent-teacher conferences" make you break out in a cold sweat? This week is parent-teacher conferences for SC students.  Just the words make me extremely nervous.  Not for my kids, they do great, but the memories that it brings back for me aren't good.

I always had good grades, that wasn't the issue.  It was my mom face-to-face with my teachers.  "Mrs. Perkins, Denny gets very good grades, but it's his in class behavior we are concerned with."

Translation: Denny WON"T SHUT UP!

I was Eddie Haskel!  I had a creative writing teacher who once said to me, "Mr. Perkins, you will never make a living being a smart ass." I'd like to thank Mrs. D for helping me with my career choice.  I think I got in radio just to prove her wrong!

After so many parent-teacher conferences, my dad would just shake his head and walk away.  My mom, well, she's grateful she had three other kids.
