Middleton Named New Sedalia 200 Activities Director
During its special meeting on Friday, April 28, the Sedalia 200 Board of Education approved the hiring of Kyle Middleton as the district’s athletic and activities director.
He will replace Rob Davis, who is retiring from the position effective July 1.
Middleton, a Smith-Cotton High School alumnus, currently serves as activities director for the Morgan County R-II School District in Versailles. He has 14 years of experience as an activities director, having previously served in that role for the Miller County R-III district in Tuscumbia and for Pettis County R-5 in Hughesville.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Central Missouri and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Northcentral University. During his eight-year tenure in Versailles, Middleton instituted a coach’s handbook for the coaching staff and added middle school baseball, middle school cross country, middle school wrestling, high school girls golf, and a scholar bowl team to the offerings for students. “I am very excited to come back to my alma mater and work at a place I call home,” Middleton said.
“I can’t wait to start building relationships with the coaches, staff, community and students. I am very anxious to get to work. I will be at many events, so please stop by and say ‘Hi’ to me and my family. We are very grateful for the opportunity to work for Sedalia 200,” Smith-Cotton High Principal Wade Norton said.
“We are excited to bring on Mr. Middleton. Kyle had always had the heart of an S-C Tiger. He will now have the platform to share his experiences and knowledge with our student-athletes and work alongside our sponsors and coaches, Norton commented."
Sedalia 200 Superintendent Dr. Todd Fraley said, “The district feels Mr. Middleton's experience as an activities director, the fact he is a Smith-Cotton alumnus and his long standing as a member of our community solidifies his knowledge and understanding of Sedalia and Sedalia 200 schools. I have very high expectations for Mr. Middleton and look forward to supporting Kyle as he begins this new journey helping our students have the best opportunities possible."
