Missouri State Fair Grandstand Concert Announcement: Oliver Anthony
The Missouri State Fair has announced their next big show at the Grandstand.
We're talking about the first Saturday night show, August 9th - Oliver Anthony and the Davisson Brothers Band.
Who is Oliver Anthony?
Okay, you know who he is, but you might not remember his name. He had a huge hit on social media not that long ago. Take a listen, it should ring a bell. And if not, enjoy!
His actual name is Chris Lunsford, but his stage name is his grandfather's name, Oliver Anthony. You know, as a tribute. Here's what the Fair Announcement said:
It made history by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and has since amassed over 486 million streams on Spotify alone. Chris also became the first living male songwriter to have 13 songs chart simultaneously on Billboard’s Top 50 Digital Song Sales. In addition, he reached the No. 1 spot on the U.S. iTunes chart and topped both Spotify and Apple Music rankings in the United States.
Of course you guys will appreciate his style, it's very much Americana. I know some people don't know what that is, but it's basically an American style of country music that isn't as slickly produced as what you hear in the mainstream these days. And it tends to be more about serious topics, like this song of his, "Ain't Gotta Dollar".

So Who's The Opening Act?
The Davisson Brothers are a genre-blurring Americana band formed in Clarksburg, West Virginia, by Chris and Donnie Davisson. They're very much a family act.
So it's a similar vibe, and I imagine there will be a lot of stompin'. In a good way.
Along with nephew Gerrod Bee and life-long family friend Aaron Regester, the band has created a uniquely authentic Appalachian country sound, which has helped them grow into one of the most successful independent acts in the world.
So this really sounds like a chance to get on board with something that doesn't come to Sedalia often. Only mostatefair.com and etix.com are official purchasing points for Missouri State Fair tickets. Public on sale begins May 20 at 9 am through Etix.
Stompinly yours,
Behka
