Explore the Abandoned Missouri Ghost Town That Isn’t Really Empty
Everyone loves going to this tiny Missouri place that appears forgotten and call it a ghost town, but when is a ghost town not really a ghost town? When there are still people that call it home.
I enjoy seeing urban explorers share their adventures in abandoned places to see what used to be. In the case of Moselle, Missouri, your eyes can deceive you. While it does appear like a ghost town you might imagine, it's still alive with many who not only live there, but remember when it was a very active little place with numerous businesses and industries.

Wikipedia shows that Moselle, Missouri was born way back in 1849 as the town was built around a blast furnace that was constructed there. There was even a post office that managed to survive until 1971. Like many places in early Missouri, the town was named after a town in France.
It's hard to determine how many people live in Moselle, Missouri now since it's unincorporated and has no local government. The closest estimate I've seen that sounds accurate is just over 100 from the Missouri Census Data Center. The truth is you will still bump into locals there, but they'd prefer that adventurers not trespass on their property. It's the one Missouri place that looks abandoned, but really isn't.
