Last week, Denny Perkins asked me if I were stranded on a desert island and had only one band or album that I could have with me, who would it be. My answer is Pink Floyd. I have had the chance to see them in person in 1994 during The Division Bell Tour at Arrowhead Stadium and then in 2011 when Roger Waters brought back The Wall Tour to the Sprint Center. Pink Floyd simply puts on the best shows I have ever seen in person. The combination of their music and laser light shows are just something I hope everyone experiences at least once in their lifetime.

Pink Floyd has not toured as the band since 1994, although band members David Gilmour and Roger Waters have had their fair share of solo projects and special appearances for fundraising purposes. "ast year when Roger Waters brought The Wall Tour to Europe, David Gilmour played Comfortably Numb and bandmate Nick Mason even made an appearance on that show. One can only hope they can tour together in the future.

However, the question is, if you can't see the real Pink Floyd, what do you do? Brit Floyd is coming to the Midland Theatre on Tuesday, March 12. I am hoping to be amongst those in the audience. I have only seen one tribute show years ago for Elvis Presley, so I'll be curious how this stacks up to having seen Pink Floyd in person.

I'm told Brit Floyd was requested to play for David Gilmour's 50th birthday party, so they have to be pretty good to do that. I'm hoping to see for myself how this tribute band stands and am excited to hear that they've planned a three hour show featuring note-for-note performances of five full album sides, including 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals', 'The Wall', 'The Division Bell', and, in celebration of the 40th anniversary, Pink Floyd's defining album, 'The Dark Side of The Moon.'

Here is a sample of what they plan to bring to the Midland.
