Stolen ID Used to Buy Vehicle at Sedalia Dealership
On Thursday July 3 at 10:17 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 3100 block of West Broadway for a theft report.
The suspect was contacted and 39-year-old Patricia Lynn Harris was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
She now faces charges of two counts of forgery, Identity theft, Filing False Documents and making false entry in records of a financial institution.
Additional details on the case indicate that the suspect was able to purchase a vehicle from McCarthy Toyota with a co-signer who was using a stolen identity from another state.
The victim whose identity was used got a credit alert and contacted the Sedalia Police Department.
The Patrol Division began an investigation and was able to make contact with one of the suspects and recover the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.
