The Smith-Cotton Football Tigers dropped their home opener Friday night (August 31) at a rain-soaked Jennie Jaynes Stadium, losing to the Helias Crusaders with a score of 35-6.

The Tigers fumbled the opening kickoff, and Helias converted the turnover to the first of five touchdowns in the first half to lead 35-0 at intermission.  For the second straight week, the Tigers saw the turbo clock run against them, and managed their lone score in the 4th quarter on a six yard scamper by Junior RB Chance McMullin.

The Tigers (0-2) travel to Columbia this Friday to battle the Hickman Kewpies (2-0).  Listen to live coverage on 92.3 BOB FM, and online at 923bobfm.com, with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. and the kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
