As we get closer to the time when the winter storm system will impact Missouri, we're starting to get estimates on what is possible and that's a key word. Current ensembles of computer models show a high probability that parts of Missouri will get slammed by up to a foot of snow by early next week.
The 25 computer weather models all seem to be more or less in agreement on one thing - Missouri will get more snow in January of 2025 than the state received in January of 2024.
If you think forecasting the weather is hard, you should see all the factors that go into predicting what rivers will do. There is reason for concern though as it appears there's a growing chance that the Mississippi River will exceed flood stages this Spring along its banks in Missouri and Illinois.
