Terminally Ill 29-year-old schedules own death for Nov. 1st

Cancer patient Brittany Maynard has scheduled her death for November 1st. She found out she had brain cancer shortly after she got married, during which she was suffering from severe headaches. At first, her doctors told her that after she has surgery she would be looking at anywhere from 3-10 years left. Even with that diagnoses Brittany states "When you're 29, 10 years to live still feels like your going to die tomorrow." But unfortunately her tomorrow would come too soon. She went in for a post-op scan and found that her tumor and grown and she was given 6 months to live.

I found out about her story Monday when she released this video. I was kicked straight in the gut when I saw this. The last few words she says have stuck with me. I have a feeling this woman will stay with us for a long time, even after her death.

The reason Brittany chose to 'schedule her death' is because the way her tumor would take her out is painful and terrifying. Only 5 states allow "Death with Dignity." Check out her video. I feel like she tells her story better than me.
