Conde Nast Traveler recently released their Reader's Choice Awards for Best Hotels In the World. While no Missouri hotels are the world's best, that doesn't mean you can't stay at some of them. Three of them are in a city many Missourians love to visit.

The city I'm talking about is Chicago, and the hotels are the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, and the LeMeridien Essex Chicago.

Coming in at #42 is the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel. Located in Chicago's Loop, Conde Nast's readers like its location and proximity to Chicago's theater scene, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago. As for the hotel itself, readers like how it captures the Loop's energy with lobby art installations, a popular rooftop bar, and its indoor pool. They write that the rooms offer a relaxing retreat with soft bedding, modern bathrooms, and in-room entertainment options like Netflix.

Room rates vary depending on where and how you book and when you wish to stay. Travel Weekly says a standard room is usually around $300 -$350 a night.

The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

Coming in at #13 is The Godfrey Hotel Chicago. Located in the arts-centric River North neighborhood, Conde Nast's readers like that it provides guests easy access to many of Chicago's cultural offerings. They also like the hotel's marble-clad lobby and fourth-floor lounge. Both offer digital concierge boards that provide real-time updates on local happenings, dining, and travel, which can be sent directly to guests' phones.

Room rates vary depending on where and how you book and when you wish to stay. Travel Weekly says a standard room is usually around $250-$400 a night.

Coming in at #13 is the Le Méridien Essex Chicago. Located on South Michigan Avenue across from Grant Park, Conde Nast's readers like the hotel's midcentury modern design with stunning views of Lake Michigan and Chicago's skyline. As for the accommodations, readers like the little touches like bathroom mirror speakers and custom bathrobes. They also note that Peloton bikes have streaming options in the fitness centers. Also worth a mention are the hotel's Grant Park Bisto and the SX Sky Bar.

My girlfriend Stacey and I stayed next door at the Chicago Hilton earlier this summer and were intrigued by the Grant Park Bistro, which, while we were there, offered an exciting mimosa brunch option; however, it just wasn't in the cards for us that trip.

Room rates vary depending on where and how you book and when you wish to stay. Travel Weekly says a standard room is usually around $218-$300 a night.

While none of these hotels will work for a budget-conscious traveler or be the best option for a family, it might be the perfect escape for a couple looking at making a weekend getaway, going to a concert or football game at Soldier Field, or just looking to spend time in and around downtown, the lakefront, or Chicago's Museum Campus.

One pro tip: Everything is more expensive downtown, and I'd be surprised if any of these hotels offer anything like a complimentary breakfast or parking, so consider that before booking.
