When I woke up

So one night not to long ago I went to bed and when I woke up all my friends were old.  Yes it's true it happened just that fast.  Not only were my friends old, my music evidentlyis outdated, no one wears bell bottoms anymore, no one has a record player anymore ..what the hell happened? My friends who used to stay out all night and blowing up the town now are in bed by 9pm and the only thing they are blowing up is their air donuts to sit on.  O okay so I got old too, I just don't know when it happened, I have tickets to a concert on Wed...Grace Potter whom I really like but all I can think about is how miserable I will be the next day getting up at 330am ..somebody told me I never saw you turn down good live music ..that depressed me but hey I'll be well rested while I'm depressed.

I was talking to some friends over the weekend who I hadn't seen in a long time, we used to hang out together at the Bud Tent during the fair, and I said do you ever go there anymore and he said no we always have the grand kids when we go to the fair ..grand kids? when did that happen.  I have a daughter who turns 20 tomorrow ..20! good grief my head still thinks I'm 25 myself.  So in honor of my misspent youth tonight I'm throwing on some Zeppelin on my turntable, sitting in my recliner (because my ankles swell) and cranking it up,  and be in bed by 9 because evidently I over slept about 30 years
