Be A Part Of The Solution With The Sedalia Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
I think we can all agree, times are never easy. There's always different struggles we go through every day. But having said that, you can be a part of the solution. The Sedalia Kiwanis Club is going to be hosting the annual Sedalia Mayor's Prayer Breakfast coming up on May 5th. It'll be held at the Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church, 3201 Southwest Boulevard here in Sedalia. The new mayor, John Kehde and other figures in the community will be there to hear your concerns and work together to move forward in a positive light. Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond will be the speaker, and he'll be talking about what law enforcement are doing to help keep our kids safe in schools- and also about what you can do to help.
I know a lot of the time it feels like the problem is just too big for you to tackle. That's part of why this event is so important. There are things we can do, and there are things that are being done, to try to keep everyone safe. Also, there will be some other positive things happening at the breakfast: certificates will be handed to nominated kids from their local churches. These are the kids who are making a difference in their community. The William Schien Scholarship gives $500 to a deserving kid from right here in our area.
But don't think this is going to be a depressing or overly somber affair. There's going to be delicious food like biscuits and gravy, which have been generously donated by Hardee's East. You can also have fruit, juice, and coffee. You'll also be able to check out a new fundraiser board. On it will be gift certificates for all kinds of things from local businesses in our area. You can check it out and get your chance to win the whole thing (which is close to worth $500).
Make sure you stop by starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th and get some encouragement from your local officials, leaders, and church groups. Even if you're not religious, you are absolutely welcome to attend. If you need more information, just contact Bob Milner at 660-473-1270.
Biscuitly yours,
Behka
