We here at Mix are working with Twisted Tango and Power Up Arcade to find the best of the best.  Well, when it comes to students, that is.

You know, not just the ones that get straight A's.  Good grades are important, but it's also about the whole package.  How they are as a student, how they are as a leader, what they want to do to help people, their interest in sports and clubs, all sorts.

So we asked teachers, administrators, school bus drivers, scout leaders, those who work regularly with kids, and parents to nominate worthy students from grades 1 through 12 for this honor.  We got a lot of responses, but our first chosen was submitted by Elizabeth Carver, who's an English teacher at Smithton High. Our nominee is... drum roll please....

Lily's a senior at Smithton High.  I didn't get to talk to her personally (because, you know, she's at school), but I did talk to her Mom, Sara, who accepted on her behalf.  Sara said Lily has worked very hard, and got an amazing recommendation letter for college from this same teacher!

Here's what Ms. Carver had to say!

Lily is a senior at Smithton HS who is involved in speech, theater, FBLA, NHS, and science team. She has worked hard all year to put effort into these activities on top of her schoolwork. She spends many hours after school working on projects like Homecoming decorations to improve school spirit or FBLA presentations to compete with her peers. She is an engaged, active learner who is a joy to have in class. She is a kind person and encourages others. She is respectful, responsible, and very mature.

Wow, she sounds like she is well on the way to becoming a very successful young woman. Of course, Lily deserves to have some fun her senior year, she's working pretty hard! So I hope you enjoy your $25 gift cards to Twisted Tango and Power Up Arcade.

Mom said ya'll haven't gotten a chance to go to the new location, so here's a great excuse! I know when I was a senior, it was hard for me to let go and have a little fun.  Between college applications, the ACTs, scholarship books, all the senior events, interviews... sometimes you have to just have a frozen yogurt and shoot some aliens in a Japanese tank.   IYKYK.

Congratulations, Lily, on all your hard work.  I'm sure it's going to take you far in life!

If you want to get in on this for your student, you can nominate your student here.

Studently yours,
Behka
