Get Excited for the St. Louis Cardinals and MLB Playoffs

I know that America is a football crazy country.  It's by far the most watched sport, week in and week out.  But it is my contention that nothing stirs the passion of a sports fan than the MLB Playoffs especially if your team is in the playoffs.  Last year's crazy run by the St. Louis Cardinals was one of the most amazing feats I've ever seen, made only better by the fact I'm a lifelong Cardinal fan.

This year I find myself already sucked in, planning every evening event around what time the Redbirds play.  I don't know if the Cardinals can do it again.  Probably not, since no team has repeated since the mid '70s and the Cincinnati Reds, but until the final out is recorded, I will be watching, listening, cursing, praying, yelling and screaming for MY TEAM.

Don't get me wrong, I love football and college basketball, but it's like Bob Costas once said when asked what his favorite sport was: "Baseball is proof positive there is a God."
