Homeless Man Arrested for Felony Assault
On Tuesday at 5:46 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 500 block of East 4th Street for a report of an assault.
Upon arriving, contact was made with the victim.
She reported that she was struck in the face with a blunt object by the suspect.
Contact was made with the suspect, and he was placed under arrest.
During the course of that arrest, the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to hurt the Officers involved.
The suspect had to be secured in a WRAP restraint system and then transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a “fit for confinement” check.
40-year-old Cal A. Childers, homeless, was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on charges of Felony 2nd Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Felony Resisting Arrest, and 4th Degree Misdemeanor Assault.
Childers was placed on a 24-hour hold.
