Incident at Sedalia Convenience Store Leads to Arrest
On the evening of August 31st, Sedalia Police responded to 808 East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a customer barricading themselves in the bathroom.
When Officers arrived, the suspect was loudly yelling at two employees. Officers asked the suspect to come outside and talk, and he refused. The customer was asked to leave, refused to do so, and was placed under arrest. The suspect was extremely uncooperative, and the probable cause report notes he used racial slurs and homophobic profanities to insult the Officer.
As Officers searched him incident to arrest, he continued to turn in several different direction and yell profanities at everyone around. When Officers attempted to search the waistband of his pants, he again turned away. This time, the suspect also hopped up and down until his pants fell to his ankles.
Gabriel Arthur LaClair, 43, Homeless, was arrested on charges of felony Burglary in the 1st Degree***, Assault in the 4th Degree, Peace Disturbance, and felony Harassment in the 1st Degree. LaClair was issued a bond of $25,000 cash or surety.
***The probable cause report notes that LaClair had been previously trespassed from the business, and because of that, the incident was filed as a Burglary.
