Into September…How Soon Will the Thermostat Go to Heat??
The first day of Fall is on September 22. We've had temps the last week ranging in the upper 80's to around 90 to current temps in the 60's and 70's. Overnight lows have been in the 50's to some overnight lows in the 70's over the Labor Day weekend.
As we look forward to the next week or so, high temperatures are expected to top out in the 70's and low 80's. So we're still a ways from having to go from "Cool" on the thermostat, to "Off", and then to "Heat". But the question is...when does that comfort factor make you switch the position on your thermostat to the 'Heat' position?
I think for most of us, the cooler daytime temperatures and overnight lows will be welcome. We can finally open up the windows and smell and feel the fresh air coming in through the house.
For some though it doesn't take long to make the switch from AC to HEAT on the thermostats.
I think for many there are almost certain times in the Spring and Fall when we feel if we can just hold off a few more days, we'll be able to justify making the switch.
With Autumn, it's throwing on a sweater, light jacket, or a sweater, and we're good to go. Lay out the extra blanket on the end of the bed and we're fixed for the evening.
Not sure when that day will come when we make the switch but for now, we can get ready to enjoy the first days of Autumn.
