The Best Examples of “I Say It Wrong On Purpose”

For some people, it feels like "nails on a chalkboard" when someone says something wrong.  It might be even more irritating to find out that they're saying it wrong INTENTIONALLY. I've heard people complain about someone saying "expresso" instead of "espresso", for example.  And it's a recurring debate here in Missouri - people argue all the time about if it's "Mizz-ou-rah" or "Mizz-ou-ree".

But I guess I'm just one of those people? NJ and I were discussing the various things that I say that are actually incorrect, I know they're wrong, and yet I say them anyway.

• "The Google"
• "Strategery" . . . inspired by the old "SNL" bit.
• Pronouncing Arkansas as "R-Kansas."
• Pronouncing Pokémon as "Pokey-man" or "Pokey-mans."
• Pronouncing scissors as "skissors"
• "Mack-Donalds."

And I thought, this can't just be me.  So I asked you on the internet,  "What is your best 'I say it wrong on purpose' example?"

Yes, this is my Dad.  And yes, this happens all the time.  I do it, too.

Replentish instead of replenish. I don’t know why. I just feel like there should be a T.

I mean, you have a point.  I don't know but I have a feeling that the next time I say that word, my brain will put a T in there.
