If you're looking to ride off into the sunset of your retirement years, there are two Missouri places that should be high on your list of where to call home according to a brand new national ranking looking ahead to next year.

This is one of the most prestigious lists for national rankings. Few are more respected than US News & World Report who just factored in a number of metrics including "quality of life, overall value, tax rates, senior population/migration trends, and health care quality" to decide which places in America were the best retirement destinations. With all those numbers crunched, just two Missouri cities made the top 50.

O'Fallon, Missouri was named the 49th best place to retire in America while St. Charles, Missouri was ranked just below it as the 50th best retirement destination. Both received high marks for relative affordability and reasonable commute times. Both were ranked close for median income and home values, too.

Honorable mention goes to St. Peters, Missouri which was ranked the 65th best place in America to retire. The only other Missouri city in the top 100 was Joplin at #99.  I think it's interesting that so many cities and towns in Missouri get called out for having high crime rates yet you don't hear much about the places like the ones that made this list which are excellent places to call home. Having 4 cities in the top 100 retirement places for 2026 is no small task.
