1 of Missouri’s Largest Burger Chains Closing Up to 200 Locations
I have never met a burger I didn't like which is why I was saddened today to see one of the larger burger chains that has dozens of locations in Missouri planning to close up to 200 before the end of the year.
What is your favorite burger chain? I'd guess that this chain will be in the top 5 for most of those who live in Missouri. Scrape Hero says that Missouri is one of the top 10 states in America for none other than Jack in the Box with 37 locations open (at the moment).
This word comes directly from the restaurant chain itself in a press release just shared yesterday. It's more or less a state of the union for Jack in the Box as a quarterly report entitled the Jack on Track Plan. Here are the two main points in their exact words:
- Jack in the Box will implement a block closure program, which is projected to result in the closure of approximately 150-200 underperforming restaurants — a majority of which have been in the system for over three decades
- The program will consist of approximately 80-120 restaurant closures between now and 12/31/2025
As of this writing, Jack in the Box has not announced exactly which Missouri restaurants might be affected by this decision.
It's really difficult to go to the St. Louis area and NOT see or stop at a Jack in the Box. I guess if more of us were stopping then we wouldn't be sharing this news. Let's hope with the exact locations they're closing get announced, few if any will be in Missouri. Time will tell the burger tale.
