Wait, Wait – Is Wal Mart Locking Up Their Meat?
When I was young, I remember my parents and grandparents, as well as all the other "adults" complaining about child safe bottles. I also remember hearing them complain about all the safety measures on pills. Later, I remember hearing a lot of the grown ups being always annoyed about having to get an employee to open a locked cabinet or something.

Isn't that always the way? It's never as good as it was back when you were young. An things have changed a lot over the years. Of course, some of these things were implemented because of criminals. Because apparently we can't have nice things. A lot of it started in the eighties, with the Chicago Tylenol Murders. If you haven't heard of that, here's a video about it.
Well, now there are new security measures in place..... for your meat.
Yes, this is a thing! Some stores have started putting their meat into... wire bags? It's started in high population places, where there are more security measures needed. You know how it is with a larger populated place.
But what about here in West Central Missouri?
Is our local deli going to have this soon? To be honest, as of right now, it's not likely. As we saw in the articles, it's happening in much bigger cities. Apparently they're having a big problem with shoplifting and theft. I called both the Sedalia and Warrensburg Wal Mart stores, and, well, full disclosure - I did not manage to get anyone on the phone from either deli/meat department. The phone rang and rang, so they're busy, you know.
So if it's going to happen here, it probably won't be for a while. But if you do see it... now you'll know why. At the very least, it's a heads up that it COULD be happening, even if it's not right now. And you'll at least be confident nobody got their fingers in your meat before you bought it.
Sorry. I'll see myself out.
Securingly yours,
Behka
