
Man Arrested after High-speed Chase Through Sedalia
Early Tuesday morning at 12:39 a.m., Joint Communications advised Sedalia Police to be on the lookout for a red Kia Soul that had fled from Boonville Police.
The suspect was wanted on a felony warrant out of Cooper County for possession of a controlled substance. And at 12:40 a.m., the suspect vehicle was located by police at Broadway and Quincy.
A traffic stop was attempted, but the Kia Soul then fled from officers and ran south on Prospect until it reached 20th Street. It then traveled west on 20th to Highway 65, where maneuvered behind the Conservation Department building before heading south on Limit Avenue.
As the officer attempted to follow, two Pettis County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene in pursuit of the Kia. Pettis County Deputies then took over the chase as the suspect vehicle fled outside the city limits, eventually bringing it to a stop. The driver was positively identified as 28-year-old Antonio Barrington, the subject of the Boonville PD warrant.

During the pursuit, property damage was sustained to the Conservation Department’s property, with tire tracks and deep ruts observed behind the building where the vehicle had driven through.
Barrington was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Traffic Stop and 2nd Degree Property Damage.
His bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety. He now has a court date on Tuesday, March 18 at 1:30 p.m.
