Sedalia Man Arrested for Trafficking After Quarter Pound of Meth Found in His Car
A major drug bust unfolded in Sedalia on June 18, 2025, as detectives with the Sedalia Police Department and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force executed search warrants at a home on the city’s east side, uncovering a significant stash of methamphetamine hidden in a secret vehicle compartment.
Officers served the warrants at 1701 East 4th Street and on a vehicle linked to the residence as part of an active investigation into local meth trafficking.
What they found was a concealed compartment inside the vehicle, holding more than a quarter pound of suspected methamphetamine.
At the scene, 47-year-old Joseph Edwards of Sedalia was arrested. Authorities are seeking formal charges that include:
*First-degree trafficking of methamphetamine
*Delivery of a controlled substance
*Possession of a controlled substance
*Possession of drug paraphernalia
“This bust marks another significant step in the department’s efforts to disrupt drug distribution networks within the community,’ the City said in a press release at noon on Thursday.

“As always, charges are allegations, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the City said.
