Sedalia’s Weekend Events: Weekend of February 13
Here's a look at what's going on this weekend.
The Central Missouri Agriculture Club will host their annual Expo.
It'll be held in the Matthewson Exhibition Center on February 13 and 14. They'll have seminars, vendors, a photo contest, kids coloring contests on both days, door prize drawings, a pedal tractor pull on Saturday, and free hot dogs daily. For more information, visit www.centralmoag.com
There will be a City of Warrensburg Police and Fire Blood Drive.
It’ll be on Friday, February 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 445 East Gay Street, in the Conference Room.
Smith-Cotton High School Army JROTC will be hosting its 10th Annual Drill Competition on Saturday, 14 February 2015, at the Smith-Cotton High School.
Schools coming from Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas will be competing. Events include Armed Drill and Exhibition, Armed Color Guard, Unarmed Drill and Exhibition, Unarmed Color Guard, and of course Individual Drill Down. Drill consists of a Platoon Marching without Rifles. Armed Drill consists of a Platoon Marching with Rifles. Exhibition consists of a Platoon marching with or without Rifles by using movements not typical to a normal drill routine. Color Guard consists of a team presenting the Colors. Other highlights of the Smith-Cotton Army JROTC Drill Meet include a silent auction and the selling of 50/50 raffle tickets. The silent auction will include items from local businesses and many restaurants in Sedalia. All proceeds will benefit the Smith-Cotton High School Army JROTC program.
State Fair Community College will celebrate homecoming Feb. 14 at the Roadrunner basketball games against the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
The Lady Roadrunners will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Roadrunners will play at 7:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s festivities is “Rowdie Through the Decades.” Various student activities will take place throughout the week prior to homecoming. Student Government Association will sponsor a food drive for Buddy Packs and the Sedalia Food Pantry and will collect nonperishable foods at the games on Saturday night. Homecoming royalty will be crowned between the games. Regular admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students 13 and older. Children 12 and under and in-district residents 60 and older get in free. The Burns Chapel Youth Group is hosting a Valentine Dinner and Dance.
It’ll be held on Saturday, February 14 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Best Western State Fair Inn. After 5 attire, ticket price is $45 for a couple or $25 per person. For ticket information, call 826-8614 and leave a message. Proceeds go to the Burns Chapel Youth Group, raising money for the Western Division of Freewill Baptist General Conference in Tennessee in March.
