Two women were injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Saline County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1998 Honda Accord, driven by 18-year-old Autumn R. Gier of Slater, was on Missouri Highway 240 at Missouri Route P around 12:30 p.m., when she slowed for traffic.

A southbound 1997 Freightliner, driven by 37-year-old Trent P. Templeton of Sedalia, then overtook and struck the rear of the Honda. The Freightliner then jackknifed into the northbound lanes, blocking the roadway. A northbound 2008 Ford Ranger, driven by 21-year-old Miranda J. Cooper of Glasgow, then struck the Freightliner.

Gier suffered minor injuries and was transported by Saline County EMS to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, while Cooper suffered serious injuries and was flown by Lifeflight to University of Missouri Hospital.

Saline County Deputies, Fire & EMS assisted the three Troopers on scene.

The Honda had extensive damage, but was driven from the scene.

The Ford Ranger and the Freightliner were totaled and towed by Don's Truck Towing out of Sedalia.
