West Central Missouri’s News Leader Adds FM Translators

KSIS, formerly Sedalia's News Leader, has added two FM translators to help serve the public with better access to local news, sports, and weather.

What is a Translator?

To make something very complicated as simple as possible, here's an explanation. An FM translator, also known as a rebroadcast transmitter or transposer, is a station that retransmits the signals of an AM or FM radio broadcast station on a different frequency, typically to improve reception in areas with poor coverage or to allow AM stations to continue operating at night.

KSIS now has two translators, 94.7 FM and 96.9 FM, which will make our lineup of programming available to more listeners all over West Central Missouri.

What's On KSIS?

We have been West Central Missouri's News Leader for decades.  Listeners come to KSIS for the latest in local news, talk, weather updates, farming updates, and sports.

Here's a quick rundown of daily programming.  We have Coast to Coast AM, The FOX NEWS RUNDOWN, America's First News (Hosted by Gordon Deal), Brian Kilmeade (from FOX & Friends) , Agritalk,  Markley, van Camp & Robbins, Sean Hannity, The Market Rally, The Joe Pags Show and the The Lars Larson Show.

On weekends, you can also add The Dave Ramsey Show, The Weekend with Michael Brown, The Dana Show,  RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa,  Meet the Press, Fox News Sunday, Armed American Radio, and The Gun Owners News Hour.

All of that, along with our local religious broadcasting from Our Savior Lutheran Church and The Lutheran Hour, we're bringing church services into your home.

Sports are also a huge part of KSIS!  We're KC Royals affiliates as well as Sedalia's home of the Mizzou Tigers - Basketball and Football.

So What Does This Mean For You?

It means that you'll have more access to KSIS, is the short answer.  Instead of trying to find or switch to AM, you can set your FM dial to 94.7 or 96.9.  If you're travelling and listening in your vehicle, you'll have more access and a stronger signal for your favorite programs.
