Today is National Love Your Pet Day, a perfect reminder to embrace our furry companions, even when our cats decide to treat our furniture like a scratching post!

If nothing else, you better stay on their good side, because...they know the dirt.

A recent poll reveals some fun insights about pet ownership. It turns out that 44% of people proudly call themselves "dog people," while only 18% say they’re "cat people." Interestingly, 25% of us love both dogs and cats equally! And there’s a small group of 14% who don’t identify with either.

But, I mean, look at this face.  How can you not?

When it comes to dog owners, a whopping 77% believe their pups know them "very well," and another 20% feel their dogs have a solid understanding of them. That leaves just 3% who think their dogs don’t know them well at all. Even more heartwarming, 20% of dog owners feel their dogs actually know them better than their friends and family do!

On the cat side, 61% of cat owners feel their feline friends know them "very well," and 29% think their cats know them "somewhat well." That means 10% of cat owners think their cats are a little less attentive—probably because they’re just not that interested! Also, 17% of cat owners proudly claim their cats know them better than any human can.

So, are you team human or team pet?  Which one knows YOU best?

Furrily yours
