It's time to take a look back and today (September 18) we go back to 1969, when Tiny Tim announced his engagement to Miss Vicki on 'The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.'

Tiny Tim gained this fantastic friendship with Carson over the years, that he entrusted the show to not only make the announcement of his engagement, but later have the wedding on the show. It's said to be one of the most remembered and highest rated events on 'Tonight Show' History.

While I was not even born when this took place, I can recall hearing about it and seeing it on many Carson highlights.

One of the most remembered things about Tiny Tim was his unique voice and and his ukulele playing. Let's face it a ukulele is not exactly one of the most followed or played instruments in the world. You don't see many rockers pulling it out, although 'Hey, Soul Sister' by Train may be the most recent one.

Once I had a debate with Denny Perkins on the greatest ukulele players of all time. He picked Don Ho and I went with Tiny Tim.  Don Ho won the fans choice poll back then. I have to wonder how Steve Martin would do against them.

But for the sake of remembering Tiny Tim, let's pull out this clip from when he was on another show, Laugh In.
