Missouri may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of castles, but it’s home to one of the eeriest in the nation. With a history filled with tragedy and mystery, this castle remains a fascinating landmark.

The History of Ha Ha Tonka Castle

Located in Camdenton, Ha Ha Tonka Castle is a must-visit for history buffs and ghost hunters alike. The structure may be beautiful, but it has a tragic past.

Originally built as a dream estate, its story took a tragic turn when the owner passed away in a car accident before its completion. His sons carried on his vision, eventually transforming the castle into a hotel.

Eerie Castle in Missouri

Love Exploring placed the castle on a list of one of the nation's eerie abandoned castles. Now, I have never seen this castle with my own eyes, but just looking at some of the photos, I found it seems very eerie.

You can still see the burn marks on the walls that remain from the fire that took down the castle.
