Guys, when I can, I like to let you know about ways you can help the young people of Sedalia.  And there's a great opportunity coming up where not only you can help the Future Business Leaders of America, but you can also get delicious tacos.   It's....nacho average fundraiser.

Alright Then, What Is It?

Every week or so, El Tapatio does a community night. It's usually on a Wednesday.
The restaurant donates a portion of the evening’s proceeds to the student organization, or some kind of charity. On this occasion, members of FBLA will be hand to greet diners, clear tables, and maybe casually mention how guacamole pairs great with professional development.

Wait, The FBLA? I Think I remember what that is?

The Future Business Leaders of America is a nationwide student organization for middle school, high school, and college students interested in business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and career development. The FBLA concept was developed in 1937 by Dr. Hamden L. Forkner of Columbia University. The first high school chapter was chartered a few years later. So, it's a big group that does a lot of good things!  It offers students the chance to:

• Compete in business-related events (like public speaking, marketing, finance, etc.)
• Attend leadership conferences
• Participate in community service
• Network with business professionals and other students
• Develop skills in management, communication, and professionalism

They do a looooooooooooot of community service.  And they're currently raising money for their trip to the National Leadership Conference.  It's a huge deal.

Sure, I wanna help.  When Is it?

If you can't read that, or the picture didn't load, they're having it on June 4th.  Next week! So make sure you plan a late lunch or a nice dinner that night.  They'll be fundraising from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

With full bellies and fuller budgets, the FBLA crew is one step closer to their leadership dreams—one taco at a time.  With your help.
