The Johnson County, Missouri, Sheriff's Office has had a busy day. A Chilhowee couple has been charged with felony murder and child abuse in connection with the death of their newborn in 2009. Deputies also arrested a Holden man and charged him with possession of child pornography as the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Couple Facing Murder Charge in 2009 Death of Newborn

Yvonne and Gregory Arnold of Chilhowee have been charged with a no-bond warrant for Class A Felony Murder and Class A Abuse of a Child Resulting in Death in connection with the tragic death of their newborn in 2009.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says witness reports indicate the infant passed away an hour after birth, exhibiting signs of distress, and no medical assistance was sought. The Sheriff's Office also says the defendants took steps to keep the details regarding the child's death confidential. This discovery and additional witness statements prompted the filing of charges by Johnson County, Missouri, Prosecutor Robert Russel.

Holden Man Arrested in Connection To An Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Charles J. Gilkey, 62, of Holden, was taken into custody by deputies as a result of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation regarding child sexual abuse material.

After being taken into custody, detectives executed a search warrant in the 100 block of East 3rd Street, Holden, and Gikey was subsequently arrested and is being held at the Johnson County Detention Center on the following charges: 4 Counts- Possession of child pornography - possession of more than 20 pictures/one film/videotape, Class Be Felony, with bond set at $100,000 cash only.
