Sedalia Chorale Needs New Voices for 2014 Season [INTERVIEW]
Do you love to sing? Do you find yourself singing in the shower - or along with the radio here on our stations? You might be just the person the Sedalia Chorale is looking for. The Sedalia Choral Association is a community choir that's been around our area for about 25 years. Last year was the final year of director Sandy Cordes' leadership. Now, Dr Mike Grove and Britt Faaborg are steering the ship. They'll have some great concerts this year, including the winter presentation "In Spirit, and in Truth: A Celebration of the Season", and then in spring another called "An American Mosaic: Folk songs, Spirituals, and Popular Music". I got to talk with Dr Grove and Mr Faaborg about the season, the placement nights, and how you can get involved with the Sedalia Chorale.
Tryouts for the 2014/2105 season of the chorale will be on August 25 from 6-8 p.m. The Sedalia Chorale will have the voice placement on the 25th of August from 6-8 p.m. and on September 8th from 6-7 p.m., with the first rehearsal to follow from 7-9 within the Music Room, #67, at the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts on the State Fair Community College Campus. Anyone 18 years of age and up is welcome to come and try out. Questions may be directed to Liz Current at 660-473-3997.
Singingly yours,
Behka
