Sedalia Hires New Building Chief With 24 Years Experience
The City of Sedalia announced Mr. Bryan Kopp as the new Chief Building Official. Mr. Kopp brings 24 years of experience in building, code, and community development. He will oversee all building-related activities within Sedalia, including building permits, inspections, and code enforcement.
The City says Mr. Kopp's extensive knowledge and expertise make him the perfect person to lead the City in ensuring that all construction projects meet code and safety requirements. He holds 24 certifications through the International Code Council, including residential and commercial codes. The most notable certifications are Certified Building Offical, Plans Examiner, and Certified Floodplain Manager.
“We are excited and very blessed to have Mr. Kopp join our team as the Chief Building Official,” said Mayor Andrew Dawson in the City's news release. “His wealth of experience and dedication to ensuring the highest standards of construction quality and safety make him an invaluable asset to our City.”
The City believes Mr. Kopp's training and experience will bring a fresh perspective to Sedalia's Building and Code Department. Mr. Kopp is quoted in the City's release saying he is looking forward to starting his new position.
“I’m truly excited for the opportunity to serve the people and community of Sedalia.”
Mr. Kopp will join the City effective August 26, 2024, and work with the community to promote safe and sustainable development.
