Sedalia Police Reports for April 9, 2024

Sunday night, Officers responded to the Phillips 66, 218 West Broadway Boulevard*, in reference to an intoxicated subject. Officers were able to locate the subject, who was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Martavious Thomas, 33, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Thomas was placed on a 12-hour protective custody safekeeping hold.

Last Thursday afternoon, Officers conducted a warrant check on West 4th Street and South Park Avenue. Christopher Michael Stein, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Pettis County probation violation warrant on two charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. A search incident to arrest revealed Stein to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Stein was transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked in on his warrant, and a new charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Total bond on the Probation Violation warrants was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Wood’s Grocery Store, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, in regards to a shoplifting that occurred in the past. Officer spoke with the complainant while they gathered information for a report. While on scene, the suspect as able to be identified, and formal charges are pending.

Officers were dispatched to the Menard’s store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue for a report of found property. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information, and collected the found property. A report will be completed, and the property will be held for safe keeping at the Police Department for the owner to return and claim it.

Monday morning, Officers responded to the 700 block of East 13th Street for a theft report. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a victim and began an investigation. Officers took a report as a result.

*The Officer in the report narrative refers to the establishment as the “Fav Trip”. Ownership of the business have asked KSIS to use the name “Phillips 66” when referring to the business.
