The Popular, Catchy Sedalia Ads Forgotten From The Old Days
You know, when you work at a radio station, you hear a lot of commercials. And it's been a hot minute for me over here. So off and on over the years, I've heard my share. I'm sure you've heard your fair share, too. But some of them are pretty unforgettable. In fact, just the other day I couldn't get one of them out of my head. So here are five earworm jingles that will drive you crazy. You've been warned.
1. I-land Internet.
It's been over ten years, and I still know all the words. They're Otelco now, and I'm pretty sure nobody uses the I-Sell thing anymore, but hey. Internet's still good!
2. Family Pawn.
I think this one has been in their commercials for as long as I've been alive. I might be wrong on that, though.
3. Bryant Motors.
I remember the day they brought over the CD (aww, we used to use those). I heard it for the first time and I just laughed, because I thought, how different. But I also thought... nobody is ever going to remember all this. Cut to all these years later, and I know all the words. All. Of. Them.
4. Alma's Meats.
OKAY. This technically isn't Sedalia, but they advertised in Sedalia. And it's so good. They were first Alma's Meats, and then Kloeppel Meats. Kinda iffy information on the internet about whether they're, you know, still open or not, but I think they're closed. This one is probably my favorite. I genuinely love it. It was in my head the other day for at least an hour.
5. Carpet Plus.
I want to be a fly on the wall of that recording session. They're so insistent and driven and just.... really into carpet.

I know I can think of a few others, but maybe I'll leave that up to you. Which Sedalia jingles do you still remember?
Good luck getting that Alma's Meats out of your head, by the way.
Singingly Yours,
Behka
