Want To Stroll Through This Missouri Garden This Winter? Yes! Trust Me!
We have a nice little lights display in Sedalia called Light Up Liberty. You can drive though it and it may help put you in the Christmas spirit. There are lots of light displays as the winter month and Christmas holiday comes upon us, and I think there is another one that will be worth your time. It is called Gardens Aglow at the Springfield Botanical Gardens.
When the winter months come, the Mizumoto Japanese Garden Stroll transforms into a winter wonderland that you can check out on various nights leading up to the Christmas holiday and the end of the year. It is located on the Springfield Botanical Gardens and it is about 7.5 acres. Plenty of space to get your steps.
There will be lots of light displays, along the lighted pathways, and make sure you bundle up. This fairy-tale footbridge is just an example of some of the cool light displays you can see.
If you aren't feeling that Christmas like, you will encounter over 175,000 glowing lights. It should help you change your tune.
Along your long pathways, there will be fire pits to help you warm up, and vendors where you can get hot chocolate, cider, etc.
Obviously if the weather becomes too extreme, you may not be able to walk through, so make sure to check out the Friends Of The Garden Facebook page to get updates.
If you wish to get a preview of the Gardens Aglow light displays you can check out the video below.
The walk is handicap accessible. It may take you about 30 minutes or so, but you do not need to rush. Benches around to rest if you need it. You may need to purchase tickets ahead of time from the Friends Of The Garden website. Link is HERE.
So what do you think? Want to check it out? Looks great and the weather right now makes it much more manageable. Have fun!
