The City of Knob Noster posted a notification on their Facebook page providing some information on traffic changes due to the WIngs of Whiteman Airshow this weekend.

Traffic patterns will be different on Saturday, July 13, 2024, and Sunday, July 14, 2024, because of traffic leaving the airshow at Whiteman Airforce Base.

State Street/SE State Highway J will be turned into a one-way street from Whiteman Airforce Base's Arnold Gate to the four-way stop at McPherson Street. Traffic will flow north in both lanes from the Arnold Gate to McPherson Street.

Streets in between Whiteman Airforce Base's Arnold Gate and McPherson Street will not have access to South State Street while it is operating as a one-way street. You can check out a map on the City of Knob Noster Facebook page.

The City of Knob Noster says they are not responsible for these road closures and ask those in town to drive cautiously this weekend as the City is expecting a large influx of traffic for the airshow. The City expects these traffic changes to begin just before 4:00 PM CDT on Saturday and Sunday and expects these changes to be in effect for about two hours each day.

Additionally, air show attendees are asked to enter Whiteman Airforce Base through the North/Knob Noster/Arnold Gate and the South/Lemay Gate. Gates open at 8:30 AM CDT both days, with an opening ceremony scheduled for 11:00 AM CDT and flying acts starting at 11:15 AM CDT.  Entry gates will be closed at 3:00 PM, and the airshow is expected to end around 4:00 PM CDT on both days.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
