Royals Add Big Winner & Hall Of Famer To Front Office Staff
A World Series winner and the winningest Manager in Kansas City Royals history has rejoined the team, this time as a Senior Advisor to the General Manager.
The Royals announced that the team's 2015 World Series-winning manager, Ned Yost has rejoined the team as Special Advisor to the General Manager.
“My deep love for the Royals, for Kansas City, and for the people there never left,” Yost said via Royals Press Release. “So I just want to help, because I know I can help. I know what it takes to build a world championship club, and I think we’re getting close. I think we’re getting really close.”
Royals Executive Vice President and General Manager J.J. Picollo feels that Yost's experience in the dugout that led the Royals to back-to-back appearances in the World Series in 2014 and 2015 gives him the knowledge and perspective to help the team make better decisions as they try to win another championship.
Yost is the Royals all-time winningest manager in club history and led the team to back-to-back World Series appearances in 2014 and 2015, including the second World Series title in the team's history in 2015. His postseason record with the Royals is 22-9 with a .710 win percentage, setting a major league record.
Yost was named Royals Manager on May 13, 2010, and led the team through 2019. Including six seasons managing the Milwaukee Brewers, Yost finished his career 32nd all-time in games managed with 2,544 games, three more than Hall of Fame Orioles Manager Earl Weaver.
The new home of the Kansas City Royals in Sedalia is Sedalia's News Leader 1050 KSIS. KSIS will air 16 preseason games and every regular season game of the 2025 campaign. Our first broadcast is Friday afternoon, February 21, at 2:00 PM CST.
