The Division of Drug and Crime Control, which is the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s investigative division, (DDCC) served a search warrant at the residence of 62-year-old Rickard Louis Renno, in rural Lincoln, Monday morning at 7:37 a.m.

DDCC has been investigating alleged crimes involving a juvenile, under the age of 18.

Renno currently serves as Benton County Treasurer and is a local businessman.

Renno was taken into custody and transported to the Benton County Jail and booked in at 7:55 a.m. He was held on a 24-hour investigative hold and later released at 6 p.m. Monday.

In August of 2024, DDCC investigators received information from a Benton County citizen regarding an adult male, who contacted a child who he believed to be under 16 years of age.

The suspect contacted the individual through an online social media platform and explicit sexual advances were made. In the following months, investigators identified Renno as a person of interest in the case and, on Monday, June 9, 2025, investigators contacted Renno at his residence in rural Lincoln and executed a search warrant, during which they seized potential evidence.
Renno now faces charges of felony enticement of a child, and felony sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15.

Renno's bond was set at $100,000, which he posted. He now has a June 17 court date.

This is not a Benton County Sheriff’s Office case due to the circumstances of Renno’s elected status within the county, the Patrol said.

The St. Clair County Prosecuting Attorney was assigned to the case as a special prosecutor.
