Dog Approved Treasure Time With Sedalia Parks and Rec
Egg hunts are a cherished spring tradition for children, filled with excitement and the thrill of discovering hidden treasures.
However, kids aren't the only ones who enjoy the fun of searching for treats. A dog-friendly "egg hunt" is a wonderful way to engage your furry companion, allowing you to tap into your pup's incredible sense of smell and enhance their scent-tracking abilities. The beauty of organizing a dog egg hunt is that it can take place in your own backyard or even indoors if the weather isn't cooperating. With a bit of creativity, you can design a playful and stimulating environment that keeps your dog entertained and mentally engaged.

So how do they work? To ensure that the egg hunt is both safe and enjoyable, it's important to focus on a few key aspects. First, choose treats that are appropriate for your dog's dietary needs, and consider using plastic eggs that can be filled with goodies. Make sure to hide these treats in areas where your pup can easily find them, avoiding places that could pose potential hazards. Involve the whole family in the planning and execution of the hunt to create a fun, shared experience. You can even turn it into a friendly competition by timing each dog or awarding points for the number of eggs found. Remember, the primary goal is to have fun while keeping safety a top priority. With these tips in mind, you can create a delightful and memorable canine egg hunt that both you and your dog will look forward to every spring.
Or, if you don't want to fool with it at all, you can always leave it to the professionals. The Sedalia Parks and Rec are putting on a big one coming up!
We’re putting on an “egg hunt” for your 4 legged friends! Put Fido and Fluffy on leashes and bring ‘em to the dog park at Clover Dell Park. Dogs must be up to date on shots and must be friendly towards other dogs or you may be asked to leave. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available. The Dog Park will close at 4:00pm. Dogs will not be permitted into the dog park until 5:55pm
And since you know it'll all be completed in about twenty minutes, it probably will be a lot less time, money and effort to let someone else handle it. So mark it down on the your calendar with a quick reminder and take Rover out this spring!
Huntingly yours,
Behka
